As the Creative team Lead, you lead and mentor a team of creatives so they can flourish in the daily operation of a fast growing agency. You will lead the creative team and ensure project success through strategic planning, mentorship and performance optimization. You work closely with the Strategy, Account/Client, and Brand Partnerships teams to turn client asks into distinctive creative output. You are part of the leads of the overall agency, working on strategic optimization, workflows and daily operations. Beyond your own creative execution, you lead and develop the creative team, fostering an environment where great ideas thrive - and contributing to the overall growth of the agency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 7+ creatives/strategists in a dynamic and growing agency environment
- Lead and grow the creative team, developing their craft through hands-on coaching and mentorship
- Plan the creative team workload and resource allocation
- Spot emerging market innovations (such as new social platforms, AI creative tools, social commerce/TikTok Shop, and production techniques)
- Translate innovations into new creative services and actively train and build the team to master these tools and trends.
- Drive process improvement and efficiency by integrating new technologies and innovative tools into the daily creative workflow.
- Collaborate with Strategy and New Business/Account to ensure creative output is rooted in audience understanding and platform intelligence, and work on smooth workflows together
- Collaborate with Brand Partnerships to turn strong ideas into compelling pitches and visually captivating presentations
- Lead creative planning sessions, identifying opportunities to push creative boundaries while staying true to client objectives
- Facilitate and lead brainstorming sessions and creative workshops to unlock innovative campaign ideas
- Oversee end-to-end creative development, from initial concept through to final delivery
- Build scalable creative frameworks and plug-and-play concept templates that elevate output across the team
- Act as a creative sparring partner for clients, challenging briefs and elevating ambition
- Talent acquisition and hiring
- Process improvement, efficiency and innovation
- Build and oversee smooth workflows together with the other Teamleads [Account/Production/Ops]
Requirements:
- You are an organized and structured leader first, and a creative second. You know how to bring order to chaos.
- You have proven experience leading, managing, and structurally growing a team of creatives in an agency environment.
- You are highly curious about technology and market innovations (AI, social trends, creators) and love finding ways to implement them.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment and are skilled at building workflows with operational and account leads.
- 8+ years of experience in the creative industry, preferably within social, digital, or marketing agencies
- Proven track record of developing and leading successful creative campaigns, from concept to execution
- Experience leading and developing a creative team, with strong coaching and mentorship skills - you thrive by guiding others and being a mentor/lead
- Strong skills in presenting and selling creative ideas, with the ability to craft compelling, story-driven pitch decks
- Deep understanding of social media and creator culture, with a first-mover mindset on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
- A sharp eye for aesthetics, formats, and trends — knowing what works creatively on each platform
- Strong affinity with youth culture, digital trends, and emerging technologies
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the understanding that great creative ultimately drives business results
- Problem solving mentality - someone that thrives in a fast growing agency and doesn’t shy away from putting out fires and thinking in solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, in both Dutch and English
